Handy Web Resources – Part Two

Posted by

Our list of handy web tools and resources continues with a second installment. Some of them small and light weight, some of them comprehensive, but all of them handy-jim-dandy and free.

Back-link Checker

As we already know, in-coming links play a major roll in the evaluation of your site’s search engine ranking. That said, wouldn’t it be nice to know exactly what in-coming links you already have? (or are missing, as in the case of an agreement with a third party). While this tool isn’t the ‘end-all’ of back link checkers (that being the link checker in Google Webmaster Tools) it is rather handy.

Broken Link Checker

Google cares about the quality of links on your site therefore it behooves one to keep their site up to snuff with all broken links either removed or corrected. How does one achieve this? Simply by using the above free Broken Link Checker you can have your whole website scanned and a list of all broken links will be generated (with their corresponding page).

Bing Keyword Research Tool

Gain a broader, bird’s eye-view of keyword phrases by complimenting your current keyword research tool with Microsoft’s Bing Keyword Research Tool. In the field of keywords it never hurts to know more, you never know what niches are waiting to be found.

Pixlr – Online Photo Editor

Without a doubt the coolest and handiest tool on the list, the Pixlr Online Photo Editor gives one the ability to do simple photo editing right in their own browser. The tools are intuitive and easy to use, making for fast work. Lastly it’s free to use!  Thus in a pinch it obviates owning Adobe’s photo editing products.

IP Chicken

We have all been in the position where we need to know our IP (some of us more frequently than others). Add IP Chicken to your favorites so you’ll know where to go next time.
