Web Marketing Campaign for 2014

Posted by

As the social media and web marketing landscape changes web marketers must be ready to change with it or risk being left in the dust. Social media offers business free promotion and more credence to the search engines therefore it behooves to take advantage of this growing marketing tool.

Google Plus

Facebook’s number one competitor has grown exponentially over the past year, with 500 million registered users. What was once a considered a failure by experts is now becoming an essential part of social media marketing. With the people at Google Plus planning to release ‘promoted posts’ and ‘Google plus ads’ the potential for reaching a wider audience with your message is now greater than ever. If you don’t have a G+ account for your business you will be missing out.

Mobile Websites

Don’t be complacent with the idea that ‘my main website works on mobile devices, so I don’t need a mobile website’. Yes it is true nearly any website will ‘work’ on a mobile devise but its usability will be greatly hampered. The user experience differs greatly when using a website on a PC compared to a smart phone. Hard-to-click-on navigation buttons, horizontal scrolling, zooming, slow load times etc, all make the user experience frustrating.

More users using mobile devices means that more users are having a bad experience on your main website making them apt to leave your website out of frustration. Don’t waste these users, get a mobile website made.

Spammy Content and Blogging

We have seen a shift in Google’s algorithms over the past couple years, with sites that have spammy content getting the boot and sites with original content being validated. This year make sure you are getting good unique content written (and go easy on the keywords), using either a blog connected to your website or just by adding more pages to your website.

Pinterest

Photo-based social media sites like Instagram and Pinterest are gaining tremendous popularity and usage. Start including them in your social media campaign-don’t just limit yourself to Facebook. It just takes some time and creativity to see how you can participate in these two sites. The first and most obvious would be of course to take and upload good photos of all your products, and then interesting photos of your company and staff.
